Troop 1 Board of Review Basic Expectations

Uniform:  Full Class A uniform with merit badge and OA sashes (if applicable)

Scout Oath, Law, Motto, Slogan, and Outdoor Code:  Tenderfoot and Second Class should be able to recite almost all of each, and know what each means.  First Class & higher ranks expected to know word for word, with increasingly deeper meaning and understanding for the higher ranks.

Knots:  Everyone expects Boy Scouts to know how to tie knots.  Board of Reviews will ask for some or all of the following knots to be tied.

Square knot:  everyone should know
Tenderfoot:  two half-hitches and taut line hitch, show how to tie and tell where they would be used.
First Class:  above knots plus clove hitch, timber hitch, and bowline knots, show how to tie and tell where they would be used.
Star, Life, and Eagle:  any or all of the above knots, show how to tie and tell where they would be used.

A Board of Review is a chance for Scouts to show off what they have learned.  It is not a review of each of their requirements for a rank advancement (their Scoutmaster has attested that they meet the requirements), but a chance for the Scout to share his experiences and provide input into the future direction of the troop.  Additional information for a Board of Review can be found on this troop website and other sites on the internet.
