·        Good Turn for America, Oct 21 & 28.  The troop will work with Pack 25 to distribute bags the weekend before the pickup.  The Council rescheduled bag pickup from Oct 28 to Oct 21 after this meeting was held, and bag distribution will need to occur during the Backbone campout weekend.

·        Boundary Waters trip update.  A November meeting will be scheduled to get firm commitment from participants.  Scouts planning to attend the trip without a parent or guardian will need to have earned a swimming merit badge before the trip.  The merit badge can be earned at the council swim instruction that is typically held Jan through April.

6) New Business

·        Troop meeting location – the group discussed problems currently experienced with noise and general acoustics in the cafeteria.  It is difficult to isolate noise from the various groups during troop meetings, and the noise distracts the Scouts from the troop and patrol meetings.  Alternate meeting locations were discussed, and information on several will be investigated for discussion at the next parents meeting.
