·         Scout Sunday, Feb 3 – Great turnout, everything went well.  Bridget and John Bunge have agreed to organize next year.

·         Sundown Ski trip, Feb 8-10 – 8 Scouts and 4 adults had a lot of fun.  Making plans to improve for next year.

·         No troop campout in March – spring break and Easter have combined to wipe out most of the available weekends.

·         Summer camp update – The troop will go to Camp Phillips this year for summer camp June 29 to July 5.  We have asked for the Thunderbird campsite.

·         Storage shed – The St. Ed’s Booster Club has declined to participate in the funding, we consider the subject closed.  Signage listing donors will be modified with this latest development.  No update on the appreciation cookout in March.

·         Fundraising coordinator

·         Pop can collection fundraiser, Feb 16 report – 34 bags collected, next collection scheduled for March 29.  Some discussion on handing out some type of “thank you” reminder to our donors.

·         Round Table Update – no report

5) Old Business

·         Eagle Claw update – discussion on eligibility for partial payment of fees by troop.  Still intend to use as a reward for older active Scouts.  New discussion on using the trip as leadership development for “intermediate” age Scouts.  Al, Tim, Chris, and Francis will meet, along with any other interested adults, to define the troop’s expectations of the Scouts after they return from Eagle Claw.

·         High adventure activities, update on Sea Base 2009 – Registration closed Feb 15, and we have since learned the voyage is scheduled for June 11-18.  $100 per person registration fees need to be paid to Tim Klein or Michelle Westphal by March 13.

·         High adventure activities, update on Philmont 2009 – a preliminary budget has been prepared, and participants can expect total costs to be approximately $1100 (not including backpacking gear).  We are working with the Council to determine when the $100 registration fee will be due, although we expect it will be early to mid April.

·         National Jamboree, July 2010 – Over 130 Scouts in the council have signed up to attend.  Scouts must be at least First Class rank to attend.

6) New Business

·         The troop will be rechartering in March.  The group agreed that the troop will pay the registration fees for current and new Scouts and adults for 2008/2009.  New Scouts that have already paid their $10 fee will be refunded.

·         Adult leadership – discussion on registered adults and non-registered parents signing up for or being assigned to lead campouts and activities.  We canceled 2 campouts last year due to insufficient adult leadership being available, and need to determine how we can get others involved.

·         The start time for Parents Meeting during the months of April through September will be changed 7:30 PM.  October through March will revert to a 7:00 PM start time.
