Scoutmaster
– Order
of the Arrow elections are planned to be held next week, 4 scouts are eligible.
o Troop leadership
elections will be held next week of the Scouts are prepared.
o JT Kneeland is
planning his Eagle Court of Honor for either March 8 or 9.

coordinator
·
District Swim program, update – everything is going
swimmingly and everyone should be done in early March.
·
Scout Sunday, Feb 3 – Great turnout, everything went
well. Bridget and John Bunge have agreed
to organize next year.

Sundown Ski trip, Feb 8-10 – 8 Scouts and 4 adults
had a lot of fun. Making plans to
improve for next year.
·
No troop campout in March – spring break and Easter
have combined to wipe out most of the available weekends.
·
Summer camp update – The troop will go to

activities – Troop records show that since the last parents meeting, 2 merit
badges, and 8 rank advancements were earned.

– The St. Ed’s Booster Club has declined to participate in the funding, we
consider the subject closed. Signage
listing donors will be modified with this latest development. No update on the appreciation cookout in
March.

Pop can
collection fundraiser, Feb 16 report – 34 bags collected, next collection
scheduled for March 29. Some discussion
on handing out some type of “thank you” reminder to our donors.

Flapjackers
pancake breakfast, Mar 8 – tickets are on sale, this is a great fundraiser.

My
Waterloo Days beverage pour – we will do it, Dana is
coordinating.
·
UNI Dome
concessions – the troop may have an opportunity to work the stands at selected
events, splitting the profits with the vendor.
This would be a good opportunity for Scouts and parents to help fund summer
camp and high adventure trips.

Pack 25
crossover, Feb 10 – 9 Webelos 2’s crossed over, we currently have 7
registrations and are expecting 2 more.

Table Update – no report
5) Old
Business
·
Eagle
Claw update – discussion on eligibility for partial payment of fees by
troop. Still intend to use as a reward
for older active Scouts. New discussion
on using the trip as leadership development for “intermediate” age Scouts. Al, Tim, Chris, and Francis will meet, along
with any other interested adults, to define the troop’s expectations of the
Scouts after they return from Eagle Claw.

High
adventure activities, update on Sea Base 2009 – Registration closed Feb 15, and
we have since learned the voyage is scheduled for June 11-18. $100 per person registration fees need to be
paid to Tim Klein or Michelle Westphal by March 13.
·
High
adventure activities, update on Philmont 2009 – a preliminary budget has been
prepared, and participants can expect total costs to be approximately $1100
(not including backpacking gear). We are
working with the Council to determine when the $100 registration fee will be
due, although we expect it will be early to mid April.
·
National
Jamboree, July 2010 – Over 130 Scouts in the council have signed up to attend. Scouts must be at least First Class rank to
attend.
6) New Business
·
The
troop will be rechartering in March. The
group agreed that the troop will pay the registration fees for current and new
Scouts and adults for 2008/2009. New
Scouts that have already paid their $10 fee will be refunded.
·
Adult
leadership – discussion on registered adults and non-registered parents signing
up for or being assigned to lead campouts and activities. We canceled 2 campouts last year due to
insufficient adult leadership being available, and need to determine how we can
get others involved.
·
The
start time for Parents Meeting during the months of April through September
will be changed 7:30 PM. October through
March will revert to a 7:00 PM start time.

Congratulations
to new Troop 1 Committee Chair, Jon Beyer.
Thank you Steve Murphy for your leadership and commitment to the troop
the last several years.

parents meeting Monday, March 17, 2008 at AJ’s Eatery & Spirits (by
Target), meeting starts at 7:00 PM
·
Orientation
for parents of new Scouts will be held at the next troop meeting on Feb 24.
