Outdoor/activities

Summer camp report – 17 Scouts and 7 adults
attending, having a great time. The camp
site was very nice, and several of the older Scouts participated in high
adventure activities offered by the camp.

Advancement
coordinator
·
Eagle
Scout Project: Colin Beyer presented his
proposed Eagle Scout project that would build 3 new trophy cases for St.
Edward’s School. The project fills a
real need at the school as the current cases are incapable of holding the
school’s trophy’s.
After asking questions and discussing the project plan, the group
approved the project.

Advancement
activities – 54 merit badges were earned last month (all at summer camp), the
status of other advancement records is unclear and is being worked on.
·
Chaplain – Jon reported
that the new Chaplain Aides did a great job at summer camp.

Storage
shed – Signage was received and installed before the July 13 Appreciation
Cookout / Court of Honor. The troop was
blessed with pleasant weather, a super turnout, a great food, making for a memorable
event.

collection fundraiser, next is scheduled for July 19, 9:00 AM to noon)

UNI Dome
concessions, update – we expect to hear about potential opportunities some time
in August.

5) Old
Business
·
Eagle
Claw update – After determining that openings were available, Collin Beyer and
David Breuer will be attending the first session of
Eagle Claw July 18-27.
·
“Iron
Man” patch – Francis reviewed some design ideas, and will work with Chris on
the project.
·
Parent
sign-up calendar – the form is ready to use, but will be reviewed with Al
before implementing.
·
Boundary
Waters, summer 2009 – no report

High
adventure activities, update on Sea Base 2009 – no report

National
Jamboree, July 2010, update – no report
6) New Business
·
Popcorn sales, fall 2008 – expect information from the council in
August.
·
Wreath sales, fall 2008 – Wreath sales information is being put
together for this fall’s fundraiser.
·
Adventureland
campout – Some of the Scouts have voiced interest in a campout at Adventureland, as they has lots of
fun the last time. This can be discussed
at an upcoming meeting to determine if there is enough interest to add another
campout or possibly use the scheduled August campout for this purpose.
·
Pancake
breakfasts – Danas is looking at scheduling troop pancake breakfast fundraisers
in both the fall and spring.
