by Chris Klaren

3) Nick
Augustine Eagle Scout project review: Nick
described his proposed Eagle Scout project for the group. He is working with Happy Time Day Care and
the Waterloo Police Department to conduct a Child Safety Identification project
for the pre-school students. Nick is
targeting to have about 200 of the preschoolers participate during the 8-12
weeks needed to complete the project. He
will purchase the materials with fundraising from Flapjackers pancakes, pop
cans, and other fundraisers as needed.
After some discussion, the group approved the project. Good luck Nick!

– December minutes approved
5) Reports:
·
Scoutmaster
·
Troop
elections will be held March 9. Scouts
needing leadership experience need to come forward in the elections. We expect to combine the troop into one patrol
at that time.
·
We are
having a hard time finding things interesting for the older boys to do at Scout
meetings. Activities have been difficult
to schedule with all of the conflicting activities that many of the boys
participate in. Chuck discussed possibly
having the Scouts work in groups to build rafts this spring and summer, with
the goal of using them on a river float.
This will be discussed at upcoming troop meetings.

Troop
financial report: Stacey reported that
the troop has a General Fund of $308.79, Scout Accounts of $988.00, and a
Scoutmaster fund of $3623.63. The large
increase in the Scoutmaster account is primarily due to funds transferred from
Scouts that either aged out or were inactive, as well as collections on past
due accounts.
